By increasing the strength of your external wireless antenna, your wireless network distance, signal strength and performance is significantly improved. The Hi-Gain Corner Antenna is the perfect solution for providing wireless coverage in very large rooms, conference halls or buildings. Trees were between the house and building. With one antenna sending the signal we could not detect a signal. Easy to install. Cons: The system works, but it will probably not send a signal as far as advertised.
With the single directional antenna sending and a laptop outside, I could detect an adequate signal about ft. Pros: this antenna is awesome have it hooked up to a buffalo router and it rocks excellent range easy to install. Pros: Used to create a wireless bridge to my grandmothers's house. One of these on each end, pointed toward each other, connected to standard, off the shelf routers. Distance is about feet going through 2 houses.
To save the cost and hassle of an outdoor installation, I made some wood brackets to hold the antennas and put them next to the routers indoors.
We only lost connectivity once and that was during a very severe lightning storm. In the setup listed above, if one the antennas gets degrees off plane, signal strength drops dramtically. Cons: Price maybe. Bit of overkill but it works. Color I guess it could get dirty. I am running the building phone system IP Phones as well as internet and surveillance video over the connection.
Cons: Short cable - pretty much requires you to buy an extended cable which was not easy to find. Add to cart. Price Alert. Add To Wish List.
